![]() SummerIt is a mixed-media piece of Chinese rice paper on a piece of canvas using Chinese black ink, oil pastel and water color. This piece tries to show my identity. I did a series of hibiscus that show different faces ostates of my mind. Hibiscus is the rose of China. It was originated from China and it is brought into Hawaii. I was born in Hong Kong and I moved here 2 years ago to the America. It also symbolizes birth season, Summer | ![]() The OppositesTrying to use two completely opposite mediums (reed and plaster) to make opposite forms. | ![]() NegativesI made a mold with wood and put it on a spinning table and made two forms with plaster. Then combined two forms . Colors were used to emphasize the negative spaces that were created in between forms. |

![]() Yin YangYin Yang is my interpretation of the eastern and western lifestyle.This is a mixed media collage piece of rice paper, lined paper, ball point pens, Chinese ink, acrylic, oil paint. I am trying to create a harmony in between eastern and western mediums. I used softer brush strokes for western mediums and stronger strokes for the eastern mediums. | ![]() PastI drew a comical self-portrait and added pieces that I stripe off from my old abstract art work. The bubble expresses my past passions. | ![]() TimeDifferent pictures of products made by wood were used to build a spiral repetition. It symbolized the the tree rings inside of a tree trunk. |

![]() PeacockIt is drawn with gouache and collage of feathers drawn in all the methods that I had used in the past. It symbolizes how I am ready to move forward from my past to accept new challenges like a peacock about to open its feathers. |
